The Water Lily series is a nature-inspired decorative series featuring motifs of flowers and leaves from aquatic environments.
The series belongs to the factory's Art Nouveau catalogue; organic, yet geometrically simplified. It was produced over several decades, primarily between 1910 and 1935.
It is a typical underglaze decoration (colours fired into the porcelain), a technique for which B&G was renowned.
The series was designed by Bing & Grøndahl's artistic director Aksel Rode (he was artistic director from 1930) and other regular designers at the factory.
