Monies is a Danish jewelry company founded in 1973 by husband and wife team Gerda and Nikolai Monies in Copenhagen. Both were trained goldsmiths, but chose to take an unconventional path early on by working with raw, natural materials such as wood, horn, fossils, amber, mammoth tusks and semi-precious stones. They created large, sculptural jewelry that balances art and design and often appears as portable works of art.

Monies' approach is characterized by a fascination for nature's imperfections and a respect for the inherent character of the materials. Their jewelry is known for being bold and extravagant and has been shown on the catwalks of international fashion houses such as Chanel, Donna Karan and Christian Lacroix.
