ART DECO CERAMIC VASE BY ARABIA FINLAND – 1940-50s

Art Deco vase designed by Kaarina Aho for Arabia Finland.

The vase's smooth curves are beautifully complemented by a art deco design in rare silver inlay glaze, set against a dark green and turquoise background that lends a subtle metallic shimmer and depth.

Dimensions: Height 20 cm, diameter 17 cm.

Good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear.

Kaarina Aho (1925-1990 Helsinki, Finland) joined the Arabia factory's Product Design Department in 1946 as an assistant to Kaj Franck.

Starting in 1946, Aho played a critical role in creating an assortment of new and vivid designs. She eventually opened her own ceramics workshop in 1962.

Works by Aho are in national and international collections such as the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York, the British Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and others.
